Stir fry prawns

by kathrynsherratt

Stir fry prawns is a really quick and simple way to cook prawns with bags of flavour in a quick sauce. Done in less than 5 minutes this is great served with noodles, rice, vegetables or just on their own. I used ready shelled prawns to make it even easier. This dressing would also be great with salmon, another favourite fish of mine!

Prawn health benefits

Prawns are a rich source of selenium, which is one of the most effective antioxidants at maintaining healthy cells. They also contain high levels of zinc which is an important element to develop and support the immune system.

Eating prawns also helps build strong bones because they contain phosphorus, copper and magnesium. These stir fry prawns are great!

Soy sauce benefits

Often overlooked, soy sauce also has some health benefits. Seek out naturally produced soy sauces if you can, especially if like me you do a lot of Asian cooking. Soy sauce is thought to promote digestion and is often used in broths to soothe digestion/stomach issues.

Dark soy sauce contains several strong antioxidants which some studies have found to support heart health.

Salt reduced and Korean varieties of soy sauce have been found to reduce blood pressure in mice and some studies have shown that soy sauce may have cancer and tumour-inhibiting effects.

Give these stir fry prawns a go – you will be cooking them again and again!
