Feeling Run Down?

How do you feel?

Feeling a bit run down? Asking how you feel can be a bit cringe worthy I know, but, honestly how do you feel?

When so much is going on, it can be hard to think about your health. And most of us take it for granted until something goes wrong  – a sudden diagnosis, back ache, an illness we just can’t shake off.

As we age we can think that our health will naturally deteriorate. This may be, but there are things you can do to help prevent the typical midlife health illnesses such as high blood pressure, and increased belly fat. These are characteristics of metabolic syndrome which is an increasing problem across the world

What can you do?

  1. Eat in moderation: Food is everyone – it’s tempting to snack and pick things up on the run. Fads come and go on how many meals to have, whether to snack and the benefits of fasting. But one thing stays the same.  If you consume more calories than your body needs or expends you are likely to pile on the pounds.
  2. Move. Everyone enjoys something different – from pounding the streets, yoga bunnies, cycling or the latest High Intensity Training (HIT). But any form of moving is good for you, and don’t forget a good stretch. It’s a great wake up for the body, especially in the morning.
  3. Sleep. A good night’s sleep really is magic. Try to get as much as you need – you will feel so much better in the morning

Pro Tip: Keep a food diary to record how much you eat and drink. You may be surprised at what you discover!
